It's also a look back at how sandals evolved into sneakers.
Our task or activities in week 8 is the making of our week 8 blog, and our second mastery test which is for the topic, conditionals, and types of communicative styles. I have developed like being more polite by using the right modals, I'm less worried about expressing my opinion and expressing it much using the types of conditionals, being careful about the tone of the things I say with the type of communicative styles I used depending on the occasion, who I am talking to and the scenario.
Our topic is all about Communicative Styles. A communication style (also known as conversational style) is how we share information with others through language. Much of Tannen's work on conversational styles focus on "typical" styles of men and women and how these gender differences can lead to conflict, misunderstandings, and stress. In week 6 the activity or task we did is a mastery test. I learned one of the Anglo-American literature icon and who's the author of the Adventures of Tom Sawyer and his name is Mark Twain.
I also learned more about our topic in quarter 1 because of our mastery test. I find it difficult for some of the questions in our mastery test because some words are difficult for me to understand. The highlight of the topic is the type of communicative style and that is the word intimate because that reminds me sharing Intimate conversations with your family, friends, or close ones is really important because it shows how you care and important they are.

I learned about one of the Anglo-American literature icons and who's the author of light in my darkness and her name is Helen Adams Keller. I learned about litotes which means it's an ironic understatement in which an affirmative is expressed by the negative of its contrary. I also learned that casual communicative styles use jargon, slang, and colloquial words. I find it a bit difficult to find the contrary in our activity or task we did. The highlight of the topic is "Employing Appropriate Communicative Styles". It is about choosing the right words or tone when talking to someone about something and it must be appropriate based on who you are talking to.
